Monoï is the beauty oil of the Polynesians. It is the fruit of the delicate maceration of fresh tiare flowers in refined coconut oil. These ingredients are all native to French Polynesia. First of all, monoï is recognized by the Polynesians for its multiple soothing, protective and moisturizing virtues. In French Polynesia, it is considered a real beauty treatment. The special attention given to the selection of coconuts and the manual picking of the Tiare flowers makes MONOÏ TIKI TAHITI a true offering from nature.
A cosmetic product rooted in Tahitian tradition
Undoubtedly, monoi conjures up images of white sand beaches and turquoise waters. For Tahitians, it is much more than just a beauty oil. Monoi represents a thousand-year-old tradition and unique artisanal know-how.
So how is it made?
It all starts with the coconut tree, the emblematic tree of Tahiti. The white pulp contained in the nuts is extracted. Once dried and pressed, it is transformed into coconut oil. Very pure and fragrant, it is used in the composition of monoï as a major ingredient.
Next, we select tiare flower petals. This delicate white flower brings the final olfactory touch to the monoi. We pick these flowers at dawn, when their scent is most intense.
